Andrew is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) with honours and is a Wilfrid Laurier University (BBA) alumnus.
Andrew’s first foray into financial planning and investing began when he temporarily lost some of his summer student earnings in the crash of 1987. A business degree later and having worked extensively as a personal financial planner for a national financial services firm, Andrew joined Stewart & Kett in 2000 because he believed strongly in their advice-only approach. In the years since, through good markets and bad, Andrew has become an even bigger advocate for the transparency and objectivity of the advice-only model.
Andrew has facilitated seminars on retirement and Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), contributed to several case studies published in the Financial Post Business magazine, and has been cited by the Globe and Mail, CBC, BNN (Business News Network), and financial industry journals like Investment Executive and Canadian Moneysaver.
As a husband and dad to three active, teenaged boys, Andrew embraces all four seasons. With many travel ideas still in the works, his family has already road tripped to two of Canada’s three coasts. He spends winters working on the backyard rink with the boys and summers at the family cottage. He has volunteered as a hockey coach and trustee at his local church.
